| [Bernama] Agrobank will implement a full-fledged Islamic banking system in 2015, said its managing director. He also said the bank had started to promote Islamic banking products and services such as Ar-Rahnu financing as well as in agriculture financing, personal loans and deposits. "The change will not be drastic even though the response from non-Muslim customers for Islamic banking is very encouraging," he told reporters in Jitra. Ahmad said Agrobank planned to offer Ar-Rahnu services at another 20 to 25 branches this year. At present, 88 out of 167 branches provide the services. Agrobank had appointed 5 Syariah Committee members who will ensure all its products comply with Islamic principles. |
