| [Bloomberg] Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd. said it invested a total 22.6 million ringgit on a 20 percent stake in Amana Bank Ltd., Sri Lanka’s first Shariah-compliant bank. It bought new shares for 21.3 million ringgit, with the remainder satisfied through a share swap, Bank Islam said in a statement in Kuala Lumpur today. Amana Bank is scheduled to commence operations in the second half of this year, it said. |
